Senior footballers aged 75 and over gathered in one place.

On the morning of January 22, the "Wonro Footballers' Meeting" held an emergency press conference in front of the soccer center building in Jongno-gu, Seoul.

Park Seung-ok (86), head of the "Wonro Football Association", said, "The 55th presidential election for the Korea Football Association has not been held as scheduled and has been crippled. Our soccer elders, who were in charge of a generation of Korean soccer, feel greatly disappointed and cannot help but seriously worry about the future of Korean soccer."

"The president of the Korea Football Association is responsible for the future of Korean soccer. The election should be fair and festive. However, the upcoming election has been delayed due to overheated competition among the candidates and mutual distrust. A new voting date has yet to be decided. This is an unprecedented situation. Korean soccer is facing heavier and more important tasks than ever, including the preliminary round for the 2026 North-China World Cup in Asia and the establishment of the Cheonan Football Center. This is why not only our elders but also the entire nation are paying attention to this election."
Senior footballers also expressed five positions at the meeting. The five things senior footballers said in their statement are as follows.

First, the Korea Football Association should take full measures to ensure that elections can be held quickly and fairly by exercising all its capabilities with a sense of mission.
Second, the election was marred by overheated competition and mutual distrust among candidates. Candidates are strongly urged to abandon their selfishness and engage in the election with a mindset that they will only devote themselves to the service of Korean soccer.

Third, Korean soccer has continued to develop despite the difficult conditions, despite the endless love of soccer and the efforts of soccer players. We hope that this election will serve as an opportunity for a new leap forward in Korean soccer.

Fourth, Korean football associates do not side with or support any candidate running for president. We can only desperately hope that the best candidate will be chosen to be the new cornerstone of the nation's soccer development. We, senior soccer players, will watch and watch with interest to see if the upcoming presidential election is conducted transparently and fairly.

"We are a group of footballers over the age of 75," said Kim Ki-bok (80), a veteran soccer player who attended the press conference. "All 35 members attended the event with a heart for Korean soccer."
"안전놀이터 Some of our members are over 90 years old. Those people were also present on this day. All we want is the development of Korean soccer," he stressed.

Former chairman Kim Ki-bok also pointed out that the famous "OB Football Association" and the "One-ro Footballers' Gathering" in the soccer world are different.
